Estate accounts template
When to use it
- You have collected in the assets and paid the debts and are ready to distribute.
- A beneficiary is asking where the money went and you need a formal answer.
- You want beneficiaries to approve the accounts before you pay out, protecting yourself as executor.
How to use it
- Start from the valuation figures, then record every movement of money after the date of death.
- Send the finished accounts to the residuary beneficiaries and ask for written approval before distributing.
- Keep the supporting statements and receipts with the accounts — they answer almost every later question.
